“Celebration of the Arts” US Bank Show– Kentucky Museum – Hours: Mon. -Sat. 9:00AM-4:00PM AND Sun. 1:00PM-4:00PM (The Kentucky Museum will close March 5-9 for Spring Break) Kentucky Artists Juried Show.  One hundred and eighty-three Kentucky residents submitted entries that fall within seven categories – Painting, Watercolor, Works on Paper, Fiber Art, Ceramics and Glass, Sculpture, and Photography. Show juror Boris Zakic, Associate Professor of Art at Georgetown College, determined award winners in each category as well as recipients of Best of Show and World’s Greatest Studio Tour Merit Award.

  • Tuesday, Feb. 28th – April 10th                      

Jennifer Anderson, Engram – WKU Art Department – Art Exhibition in the 2D Corridor Gallery: located in the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center. Jennifer Anderson’s work explores the ephemeral, taking into account the vulnerable delicate nature of life while gently asserting the persistence of memory. A tension between meaning, materials and time exists in this body of work.

  • Friday, March 2nd – Sunday, March 4th       
Kiss Me, Kate – Bowling Green High School will present the Tony Award winning musical, Kiss Me, Kate as the 2012 Spring Musical at the Capitol Arts Center March 2 – 4, 2012. BGHS senior, Ethan Baker and junior, Rachel Daniel will play the leading roles of Fred Graham and Lili Vanessi in the “play within a play.”  Kiss Me, Kate centers around two divorced actors who have reunited to perform Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. They struggle through their personal issues of lost love, new interests, and a few unexpected twists involving gambling debts and mistaken identity. Music and lyrics for Kiss Me, Kate were written by Cole Porter. Bowling Green High School performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings, March 2 and 3 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 4 at 3:00 p.m. at the Capitol Arts Center in downtown Bowling Green. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information, contact BGHS at 746-2300.

      The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center Board of Directors Presents The Golden Dragon Acrobats – As a Thank You to the Community for your support during our Opening Month we are offering a 10:30AM Matinee performance for only $5.00 on Friday, May 4th! This performance is only 45 minutes long as compared to the full 2 hour evening performance. Tickets can be purchased only from our Ticket Office at 601 College Street Bowling Green, KY or by calling 270-904-1880.
